A DOJ review of the origins of the federal investigation into potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia found no direct evidence of political bias in the launching of the probe

The full report. Here are excerpts of every single finding on political bias in the Executive Summary:
  • Page III. On Opening the Main Investigation.
We concluded that Priestap's exercise of discretion in opening the investigation was in compliance with Department and FBI policies, and we did not find documentary or testimonial evidence that political bias or improper motivation influenced his decision.
  • Page IV. On Opening Four Individual Investigations of Page, Manafort, Papadapoulous and Flynn.
We did not find documentary or testimonial evidence that political bias or improper motivation influenced the decisions to open the four individual investigations.
  • Page VI. On FISA of Carter Page
We did not find documentary or testimonial evidence that political bias or improper motivation influenced the FBI's decision to seek FISA authority on Carter Page.
  • Page XVII. On Usage of Confidential Human Sources and Undercover Employees.
Finally, we also found no documentary or testimonial evidence that political bias or improper motivations influenced the FBI's decision to use CHSs or UCEs to interact with Trump campaign officials in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.
And a Bonus on Page II. On Steele Dossier playing no role whatever in the Predication of the Investigation
These officials, though, did not become aware of Steele's election reporting until weeks laterand we therefore determined that Steele's reports played no role in the Crossfire Hurricane opening.

A DOJ review of the origins of the federal investigation into potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia found no direct evidence of political bias in the launching of the probe | Finds the Russian investigation justified | Inspector general report says FBI had "authorized purpose" to investigate Trump campaign's Russia ties but finds some wrongdoing | Steele's reports played no role in the Corssfire Hurricane opening | The report identified an embarrassing slew of inaccuracies and omissions by the FBI that marred requests for court-ordered surveillance of a former Trump campaign adviser | The report from Inspector General Michael Horowitz also revealed for the first time that the FBI used a confidential source to approach an unidentified high-level Trump campaign official in September 2016 who was never the subject of any investigation | 17 'significant errors or omissions' in FISA applications for Trump campaign aide Page but no intentional misconduct | Illegally Appointed Barr unsurprisingly rejects watchdog's finding backing the opening of Russia inquiry, calls probe "intrusive"

A footnote cited other F.B.I. officials who supported Mr. Trump’s campaign and expressed hostility toward Mrs. Clinton. You’ll also kindly notice that their names aren’t in the report which I bet Strozk and Page will find interesting. Names ASAP and a complete investigation just like the ones Page and Strozk went through. Names of agents, NOW! We need to know everything about them, married, kids, who they donated to, everything!!! That’s how this is done right? Their careers and lives get ruined now, right @FBI @DOJ @WhiteHouse @realDonaldTrump @seanhannity

The DOJ IG's report rebuts allegations of illegal spying and that political bias played a role in the probe begun ahead of the 2016 election, but finds serious faults in other areas, according to a copy of the document obtained by WaPo.

LOL "mean spy paid by democrats who hates Trump" Dossier author Chris Steele had a meeting at Trump Tower, and maintains he was not biased against Trump and in fact maintained a close friendship with a family member and was, if anything, “favourably disposed” to the Trumps. ABC News can confirm that the Trump “family member” referenced in the Inspector General report who had a friendship with dossier author Chris Steele, was Ivanka. She met him in 2007 at a dinner in London when he was still working for MI6. | Critics of Steele have argued that the former intelligence officer was biased against Trump and was inclined to produce a negative report on the presidential candidate – excoriating Steele on social media and elsewhere. | Ivanka Trump invited dossier author Chris Steele to Trump Tower in New York in 2010 to discuss the possibility of the former British intelligence officer working for the Trump Organization in doing due diligence on their business interests abroad as part of his work at Orbis.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal said the inspector general had “completely demolished" some of conservatives' assertions about the origins of the probe: "Clearly, there was a legitimate, factual basis; in fact the FBI had a moral imperative to begin this investigation."

The IG found no evidence that Manafort, Flynn, and Papadopoulos were under FISA surveillance. Papadopoulos has repeatedly claimed the FBI sought and obtained a FISA on him, and CNN reported in 2017 that Manafort was wiretapped before and after the election.

Carter Page's relationship w/ another US agency was left off all 4 FISA applications, & an attorney in the FBI general counsel's office doctored an email from that agency so it said Page was "not a source" when, in fact, he was. (Page has claimed to have worked w/ CIA & State)
