To Doug Collins or anyone complaining that "Democrats have been trying to impeach Trump since the day he was elected", it's because he's been directly involved in, and surrounded by so much impeachable conduct that dates back prior to his inauguration. Here's a quick list:

Pre-Election

Inviting Foreign Government interference into the 2016 Presidential Election
  • Trump Tower meeting between Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort, Natalia Veselnitskaya (Russian Lawyer) and others on the premise that Russians had “official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia”.
  • Trump states on national television, “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing”
  • Trump’s campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, provides internal polling data to Russians Kilimnik and Deripaska .
    • Paul Manafort is currently in prison
  • Trump’s National Security Advisor, Michael Flynn, writes an op-ed calling for U.S. backing for Erdoğan's government and criticizing the regime's opponent.
    • Michael Flynn plead guilty to a felony count of "willfully and knowingly" making "false, fictitious and fraudulent statements" to the FBI and is currently awaiting sentencing.
Campaign Finance Violations
  • Campaign finance money used to pay off Trump’s affair with adult film star, Stormy Daniels:
  • Cohen pleaded guilty to two felony violations of campaign finance laws, in which Trump is currently listed (Individual 1) as an unindicted co-conspirator.
    • Michael Cohen is currently in prison

Post Election

Presidential Inauguration Funds
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation agents obtained a recorded conversation between Mr. Cohen and Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a former adviser to Melania Trump, who worked on the inaugural events. In the recording, Ms. Wolkoff expressed concern about how the inaugural committee was spending money.
  • Richard Gates, a former campaign aide who served as the inaugural committee’s deputy chairman, in February pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy against the United States and one count of making a false statement to the FBI agents investigating Russian interference.
    • As part of a plea deal for his “extraordinary assistance” with ongoing investigations, on December 17, 2019, Gates was sentenced to three years of probation, 45 days in jail, and 300 hours of community service.
Emoluments Clause - Article I, Section 9 …No Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.”
  • China has granted Trademarks to Trumps companies during ongoing trade negotiations.
  • Foreign (and domestic) politicians and leaders make it a point to stay at (and mention to Trump that they stayed at) Trump hotels.
  • Trump attempted to hold the next G7 summit at his own Doral Resort in Florida (before eventually reversing that decision after significant public backlash).
  • Every time Trump golfs at a Trump property, he funnels taxpayer money into his family business.
The Trump Foundation
  • Investigators found that the Trump Foundation was misusing funds (self-dealing) and was ordered to pay $2 million in damages.
  • The Trump Foundation was shut down.
Obstruction of Justice
  • Trump tried to get FBI director James Comey, to drop an investigation into National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, who was under investigation for foreign relations.
  • Trump fired James Comey days after the FBI director told Congress that the bureau was investigating Russia’s interference activities. The next day, Trump met with Russian officials in the Oval Office, saying he had “faced great pressure because of Russia,” which had been "taken off” by Comey's firing.
  • Trump asked Don McGahn to fire Robert Mueller, Comey’s predecessor. McGahn’s clear recollection was that Trump directed him to tell Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein that conflicts existed and ‘Mueller has to go.’
  • Trump ordered White House Counsel Don McGahn to create a false record indicating that Trump did not ask McGahn to fire Robert Mueller.
    • McGahn left the Trump Administration on October 17, 2018
Advocating Political, Civil and Police Violence
  • Trump encouraged police officers to rough up people they have under arrest.
  • Trump re-tweeted, “If the Democrats are successful in removing the President from office (which they will never be), it will cause a Civil War like fracture in this Nation from which our Country will never heal.”
Inviting Foreign Government interference into the 2020 Presidential Election
  • Trump pressured the Ukrainian government to investigate (and more importantly, publicly announce investigations) into Joe Biden, one of his primary opponents in the 2020 general election, by leveraging US military aide to help his reelection prospects.
  • Trump stood on the white house lawn and on national television said:
    • “China should start an investigation into the Bidens, because what happened in China is just about as bad as what happened with Ukraine".
    • "So I would say that President Zelensky, if it were me, I would recommend that they start an investigation into the Bidens."
Obstruction of Justice / Congress
  • Trump has ordered multiple current and former white house aides and officials not to testify in the ongoing hearings in the House of Representatives.
  • Trump has ordered multiple current and former white house aides and officials not to comply with subpoenas issued as part of the ongoing impeachment investigations.
