DeMarcus Cousins Ring-Bound

If anyone ever says DeMarcus got a free ride to a ring it'll show they know nothing. I can't imagine not having DeMarcus's contribution tonight. Props to him for working so hard to come back as I thought he was done for the season It would've been kind of hollow experience for him if the Warriors managed to win but he was relegated to garbage time. Instead he's not only starting, but finishing as a vital contributor. That game is a blowout without DeMarcus, plain and simple. He played very good defense and his playmaking on offense was amazing. Was funny seeing Raptors fans being happy when they saw he was starting LOL. Especially since he was playing well in game 1, he was just completely out of breath. DeMarcus came up huge. Grabbing boards. Finishing at the hoop. Making big plays when it matters the most. He was a fucking giant tonight. After DeMarcus checked into the game for the last time the next 4 Raps possessions were free throws, DeMarcus rebound, DeMarcus rebound, DeMarcus rebound. He also played his ass off last night. Running all over, doing what he needed to do, sacrificing his body. One of my favourite small parts of his performance last night was on the Iggy 3 pointer - as soon as he saw Iggy was about to shoot, he made a quick decisive movement to try to get into position to crash the glass and beat Gasol to the ball, and actually got around him and had the inside position if needed. He must have been absolutely gassed, but he still used his last sliver of energy to potentially save the game if needed. So happy for him, such a well deserved triumph for him last night. DeMarcus was like Popeye's spinach last night. Man came up huge tonight. I'm so happy for him and proud. He was always one of my favourite non-Warriors, I've been so happy to see him in a Warriors uniform, and I really wanted him to have at least one game in the postseason that shows just how damn great a player he is. And that's what this was. Future Warriors legend DeMarcus Cousins.

None of the Golden State players are coasting to a ring. They are taking a beating each series. They are going to grit their teeth and eat that horse. Each one of the main core players has been injured to a degree in the playoffs and Cousins had the worst injury. I'm glad he is back out there showing what he can do. He has really worked to recover from some extremely nasty injuries and his tenacity deserves a ton of respect.
