I read the headline and thought to myself "Nah, must be taken out of context, or..." Nope. He said it. And the worst part is, nobody laughed, they just nodded along...: Trump Says Troops ‘Took Over Airports’ During Revolutionary War, in Rainy Fourth of July Speech

I bet his speechwriters thought it'd be an awesome July 4th speech if
they quoted lines from the Star Spangled Banner. Ramparts, Rockets'
Red Glare, and Fort McHenry. Problem is, that was the War of 1812, not
the Revolutionary War. Trump read "ramparts" as
"airports", and being his usual cocksure self, didn't backtrack. That's
why he had the next line about "Ramming Ramparts".
