The Taliban closed all universities for women and girls in Afghanistan. The letter from the Ministry of Higher Education says “Education for females suspended until further notice.” And the decision is effective immediately.

 

 

To the surprise of no one. Theyrebanned females from high schools and fired all the female university instructors when they resumed power. And not one single Aghani stopped them. The men in Afghanistan never wanted their women to be westernized. This was always, on a macro / practical level, a war of women's rights and advancement. That is why the men there had no interest in fighting it. It was a fight for a way of life....and in that place, as a man, your way of life ain't so bad. Certainly not worth risking your life to change it. People say "oh, they didn't even put up a fight!!!" and then I ask, "Was it a fight they ever really wanted?"
