The forensic genealogists and police chief confirmed the child's surname is his biological father's surname, and the name of the father on the birth certificate is his biological father.
- The investigators had a dna match for the biological mother. They used the dna match of the biological mother to subpoena her records. They found three birth certificates. One belonged to this child. The investigators engaged at least one of the other adult children to verify the biological relationship. The birth certificate yielded the father's name. Their next step was to determine if the father on the certificate was the biological father.
- They found a dna match between the child and a grandnephew of the father listed on the birth record. The grandnephew's dna was already in the datatbase. An investigator/genealogist contacted the grandnephew (Mr. Justin Thomas). He is the person who spoke with the Philadelphia Inquirer reporter. His mother provided a dna sample and acknowledged the family was aware her mother's brother (Augustus "Gus" John Zarelli) had a child prior to marrying but the family did not know anything beyond.
- On tiktok, another adult grandchild or grandniece (Madison Yannatelli) confirmed her Zarelli family knew Augustus had a child prior to marrying his wife, but the family did not know what happened to the child.
- This is not unusual, way back then, unwed fathers often did not know they were fathers, and those that did know often had little or nothing to do with their child(ren). Augustus knew he had a child but did not know what happened to the child. That was very common and very normal way back then.
- The police chief made no mention of adoption or foster care or an unwed mother's facility etc. Those situations may or may not be applicable. Nobody except law enforcement knows. The unhinged adoption/foster care/unwed mother's institution/medical experimentation/etc fan fiction derived from this is fan fiction, zero basis in reality until the investigators say otherwise.
- The police chief and the investigators said his birth certificate is the only record of his existence. Stop pushing lies about adoptions and foster care and baptisms and medical records etc.
- The "M" fiction is fan fiction and outrageous, the police tested "M's" dna and she was not a match. The "M" fiction also combined two different females with overlapping names. Both females died long before 2020 (people are spreading the lie that "M" died in 2020....). The other "M" is also not the mother (her timeline and locations are not a match to the timeline and location of the child, and her records are online and public, the biological mother's records are not online or public due to the ongoing investigation).
- We know who the father is because the police chief indirectly told us and Dr. Colleen Fitzpatrick directly confirmed it. He even gave us a direct street location that matches the Augustus Zarelli family location during that timeframe.
- We do not know who the mother is or who her other children are because investigators locked down their records due to the investigation.
- This is where I speculate, based on the police chief's presser, I speculate the mother's side knows more, who did what and why, the police chief hinted at this, which is why the maternal records are locked down, this is a criminal investigation, not a family blithely building out their family tree. The investigators are dedicated to extracting some kind of justice for this child. Quit lying about the facts of the case, quit pushing mentally ill deranged fan fiction, leave the Zarelli family alone, it's not your job to investigate them, let this child sleep in peace. Law enforcement may never be able to prosecute, but the investigation they are conducting is a form of justice, interrogating everybody (family and friends and neighbours) many many many times and revealing that specific location (increasing public interest/scrutiny) and disclosing the child's name (placing Zarelli family under intense scrutiny) and throwing shade at the neighbours may be the only justice they can extract. Putting both biological families and the neighbours who were alive then and still alive now and believed to have answers through the investigative process is a method of exacting justice.
- This child's name was finally restored to him, we know who his father was, it is unfortunate his father never had the chance to be a father to him (Augustus Zarelli appeared to be a good family man), Joseph has a devoted family of "true crime" people and investigators and genealogists who never gave up hope and battled for him for 65+ years, this child is not alone, we all have kept him alive for 65+ years, justice is happening.
