If the Seahawks had an average NFL quarterback they’d be 4-12. Russell Wilson is incredible.

Deshaun Watson became the first QB in NFL history to lose a playoff game with 300+ pass yards, 3+ total TDs and 0 giveaways.

The Chiefs are the first team in NFL history to lead at halftime after trailing by 24+ points

Bill O'Brien's decision to call a fake punt on fourth and 4 at his 31 with a 24-7 lead midway through the second quarter will go down as one of the worst in playoff history if the Texans blow this game as they're trying so hard to do.

The Chiefs have a 4 game losing streak against 1 AFC team. That team? The Tennessee Titans

Where does faking a punt up 17 on the road in the playoffs at your own 35 yard line rank on the dumb coaching scale? Is it off the charts? I think it might be.
https://twitter.com/claytravis/status/1216469643633795073?s=21

Deshaun Watson deserves better than Bill O’Brien. Kicking the FG on 4th & 1 when the Chiefs were reeling, only to go for fake punt when the Chiefs had a little life will go down in history as the most incongruous, indefensible, consecutive 4th down calls in playoff history.

Per sources, MLB’s penalties for #Astros include: *One-year suspensions for GM Jeff Luhnow and manager AJ Hinch. *Losses of 1st and 2nd round draft picks in both 2020 and ‘21. *A fine of $5M.News
https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/1216796031200976896?s=19

More on penalties: MLB has placed former #Astros assistant GM Brandon Taubman on its ineligible list. Discipline for #RedSox manager Alex Cora, the Houston bench coach in 2017, will be determined after MLB completes its investigation of Boston.
https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/1216796065405505537

The fine is comical, even the Rays could take that without batting an eyelid. The draft picks aren't even a loss, slap in the wrist for cheating their way to a WS title, that's incredibly light. The punishment was overhyped and I fail to see how it has a truly significant impact on the franchise moving forward.bMLB not vacating the World Series title says it loud and clear to every team in baseball: teams are allowed to cheat to win. Fines and suspensions are forgotten with time. The only lasting memory would have been a vacated title. Because every time someone looked at a list of World Series winners, the blank spot would be seen.

Permanently ban Cora and Hinch at bare minimum. Discipline for the players involved, they cheated. Much larger fine. Strip the World Series title, they didn’t earn it. I honestly don’t think I’m being unreasonable here.

As we try to digest the significance of these #Astros penalties, remember this: We haven’t seen multiple suspensions of this length for the same team since the Black Sox - a century ago.
https://twitter.com/jaysonst/status/1216805501792608257

From the report: "Some Astros players told my investigators that they did not believe the sign-stealing scheme was effective, and it was more distracting than useful to hitters." So... why would they keep doing it?
https://twitter.com/Buster_ESPN/status/1216803494302273541

So, by MLB's accounting, AJ Hinch literally smashed video monitors that were part of a cheating scheme the league says was "arranged" by Alex Cora, Hinch's bench coach.
https://twitter.com/lindseyadler/status/1216803114310946817?s=21

Beltran fully cooperated with investigation and admitted to everything.
https://twitter.com/martinonyc/status/1216799112663830529?s=21

Of all the things in MLB's investigation and Rob Manfred's nine-page letter, this might be the most damning. The Astros, who won the 2017 World Series, used their sign-stealing scheme that postseason.
https://twitter.com/JeffPassan/status/1216802507944538113?s=19

Key part of the report is that the #Astros continued to cheat after the 9/15/17 Apple Watch punishment by the Commissioner and warning that future illegalities would be dealt with in a harsher manner. And the report says the Astros continued to cheat through the postseason.
https://twitter.com/joelsherman1/status/1216800724207702016?s=21

From MLB Report: Cora arranged for a video room technician to install a monitor displaying the center field camera feed immediately outside of the Astros’ dugout.
https://twitter.com/joelsherman1/status/1216799140203704322?s=21

Even though Astros manager AJ Hinch disagreed with the use of video -- going so far as to damage a monitor used in the scheme multiple times to show his disapproval -- he was still suspended for a year.
https://twitter.com/JeffPassan/status/1216799541200138246?s=19

Should either Luhnow or Hinch be found to engage in “any future material violations” of Major League rules in the future, the offender will be placed on the permanently ineligible list.

Manfred: "Although Luhnow denies having any awareness that his replay review room staff was decoding and transmitting signs, there is both documentary and testimonial evidence that indicates Luhnow had some knowledge of those efforts, but he did not give it much attention."
https://twitter.com/brianmctaggart/status/1216803191637061632?s=09

During their year-long suspension, neither A.J. Hinch nor Jeff Luhnow is allowed to attend spring training or attend any major/minor league stadiums affiliated with the Astros. If they do so, they will be put on the permanently ineligible list
https://twitter.com/Chandler_Rome/status/1216798706101575680

According to the original story, the system was put in place by a player who "was currently struggling and had benefited from a similar system with a prior team.". That person is new Mets coach Carlos Beltran. The MLB report that just came out says Beltran was one of the players who suggested this, and he was certainly struggling that year. Carlos had just spent 3 years with the Yankees, and had a 52 game stint with Texas before his time in Houston.

Astros owner Jim Crane has fired AJ Hinch and Jeff Luhnow
https://twitter.com/Chandler_Rome/status/1216813387608293376?s=19

According to Manfred's statement, Astros players panicked when White Sox pitcher Danny Farquhar noticed his signs were being stolen via trash can bangs. Before the game ended, they removed the monitor from the dugout tunnel hiding it in an office and used a portable monitor from there on out.

You might say they got canned. 🗑 🗑

COWARD LIAR: I will not assess discipline against individual Astros players. I made the decision in September 2017 that I would hold a Club’s General Manager and Field Manager accountable for misconduct of this kind, and I will not depart from that decision. Assessing discipline of players for this type of conduct is both difficult and impractical. It is difficult because virtually all of the Astros’ players had some involvement or knowledge of the scheme, and I am not in a position based on the investigative record to determine with any degree of certainty every player who should be held accountable, or their relative degree of culpability. It is impractical given the large number of players involved, and the fact that many of those players now play for other Clubs.
https://img.mlbstatic.com/mlb-images/image/upload/mlb/cglrhmlrwwbkacty27l7.pdf

The best discipline would have been simply vacating the title since the entire fucking team and crew were guilty. You punish all of them by vacating the title and making it meaningless. MLB Commissioner is a LYING COWARD.

https://twitter.com/PJHughes45/status/1216804200392187905

Manfred did not discipline any players because it was, in his words, “impractical.” Doing nothing because it is “impractical” is weak, convenient, spineless ... and wrong.

Trevor Bauer and the Indians were right about the Astros all along.
