Then he drops the not-so-subliminal bomb at Giannis saying he wishes he could just be 7 feet tall and run and dunk with no skill. The cold war that has been simmering since last season between Harden and Giannis is officially a real thing now. Rockets play the Bucks on March 25th.

I feel like I blinked and missed when Giannis & James started hating each other. Adidas took out an ad in Milwaukee’s newspaper after Giannis won MVP arguing Harden’s case for MVP. That’s where it started. And the Rockets put out a statement pretty much as Giannis was giving his speech arguing why Harden should have won. They argued that when you added all the missed foul calls over the course of the year he actually averaged 50 hypothetical points and went undefeated.

Adidas, the Rockets and Harden all, in some people's opinions, disrespected and devalued Giannis' MVP last year. Then, sort of out of nowhere, Giannis just started taking a bunch of shots at Harden lately. The "I want somebody who's going to pass" one during the All-Star draft was funny, but then it looked like he took a cheap shot at Harden during the actual game, and then said that his team's entire strategy in the 4th quarter was to give the ball to whomever Harden was guarding. At that point, the salt started to feel pretty real. It also felt strange, because Giannis has never really been one for personal beef (Except Mike Dunleavy).
