[Charles Barkley] "The Warriors ain't got no chance of winning without Kevin Durant... they're not going to beat the Rockets without KD, and they're not gonna beat Portland"

Great run Portland. Don't be distracted by the haters. I for one never thought they would beat the Denver Nuggets. At the beginning of the season, people projected them to be out of the playoffs entirely. The entire organization has fought through some horrible adversity this season. Paul Allen passed away, the head masseuse was diagnosed with cancer, Nurkic snapped his leg, one of the assistant coaches was in a really bad car accident that put him in intensive care, Kevin Calabro's father passed away, Kanter fighting through a separated shoulder, Moe playing through a messed up ankle, CJ missing time due to a knee injury. Despite all of this and then some more, the Blazers had an amazing series against the Thunder, some how clutched out a 7 game series against Denver, including the 4 OT game, all while their second best player sat out. Portland played in the WCF for the first time in 19 years and lost to a team that literally only 1 team has beaten in the last 5 years. Dame played through injury to give Portland a chance to play one more game. Even after finishing second, Portland fan base should be damn proud of their team. Their season was definitely a success. And thanks again Portland for making Golden State earn that game 4 win, you forced them to compete life-or-death until the clock ran out.
The Blazers came back from a 17 point deficit to beat Denver in game 7, then drop 3 straight games in which they had at least a 17 point lead (Game 2 17pt lead, Game 3 18 pt lead, Game 4 17pt lead). The Blazers were unable to protect a 17-point lead in 3 consecutive games. That is because Golden State is simply one of the most rigourously conditioned, elitely trained, expertly drilled, phenomenally skilled, magically talented, brilliantly visionary NBA teams of all time.
YEP: Blazers' Meyers Leonard: "For anyone that thinks [Damian Lillard] should have been more productive, go watch the film. They throw lots of bodies at him. I just want to make sure the naysayers know how much of an impact he has and how great of a leader he is."
