The massive earthquake that killed thousands in Syria and Turkey is a "crisis within multiple crises" for a population already reeling from nearly 12 years of war, humanitarian groups are warning.
The stricken people of north-west Syria have woken up to a devastating earthquake. Many buildings collapsed. Worst affected were areas previously bombed by the regime where many buildings were structurally damaged.
